Volunteer World International are proud to offer aspiring field guides from across the globe the opportunity of a life time -to train with us to gain their FGASA endorsed guiding qualification at our very own Field Guide Training Academy at world famous Shamwari Private Game Reserve.
Our new Guide Training Academy has been custom developed to the highest level to provide aspiring guides with a uniquely comprehensive skillset so as to prepare them on the journey to become South Africa’s frontline representatives in the tourism industry and is as comprehensive a program as you will find anywhere. Included within our 9 week course are elements such as first aid training, rifle handling, 4×4 driving –not to mention snake handling instruction and local history lessons to complement the amazing on site training and sightings afforded to students through our operation at Shamwari.
Shamwari Private Game Reserve in South Africa’s Eastern Cape Province plays host to all of the training. As a result, this offers anyone wishing to learn more about the natural world and to become qualified as a professional guide the perfect location from which to operate with all required resources right on your doorstep.
A maximum of 10 places are available per course so as to ensure that the individual attention received by each student from our leading training team is second to none.
Our academy welcomes its first students on July 22nd, 2019 with the next program beginning on September 30th -a full schedule of 5 courses running throughout 2020 then begin again on Monday 6th January. Dates for 2021 will be released early in the 2020.
